External Links to ASMR Experiences
Originally posted on Facebook:

Envelope Nomia: This thread is to list any external links to other accounts of ASMR experiences, or any that sound similiar or related.

Envelope Nomia: Long list of experiences in two threads on the SteadyHealth forum.

http://www.steadyhealth.com/WEIRD_SENSAT...c-110.html

Envelope Nomia: Hip Forums - thread on head tingling. Careful on joining and posting - I got banned for posting a message describing the experiences on the health thread (I suspect that's the reason - they didn't tell me why, even after I asked politely :}).

Envelope Nomia: GameDev forum - initial post sounds unrelated, but later posts from other users describe ASMR, including triggers for A/B.

Envelope Nomia: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...624AAeeNWg

Envelope Nomia: Discussion on ASMR on the Cassiopaea Forum.

Envelope Nomia: Forum thread on 'amygdala clicking'. Sounds promising - posts to follow in the Medical Links.

Envelope Nomia: Yahoo Answers account of ASMR:

Already resolved, or I would have posted back to the group.

Kathleen Hunter: This was the first thread I ever found

http://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments...this_ever/

Envelope Nomia: Metafilter discussion, unfortunately closed to new comments by now:

Michela Lutgen: After welcoming Alex I did another random google search to see how long it would take the average person to find us. I clicked on this site first.
I don't know quite what to make of it because this person doesn't go into that much detail on these 'brain tingles' but it is kinda interesting anyway. Some of the comments this poster got also mention things like serotonin receptors and the fact that the brain doesn't actually have sensory receptors. I figured we all knew that already but we still tend to describe ASMR as residing in the brain.
Anyway, here is a link to the site.

Michela Lutgen: Every time I do these searches I find more people asking funny questions about their brains. Seems like none of them are getting answers though.

This is diffidently someone with ASMR. Too bad the post is pretty old :/

Michela Lutgen: Seriously! They are everywhere if you look in the right places! This facebook group hasn't come up though yet.

I networked on this one Smile

Envelope posted on these a while ago too.

Andrew MacMuiris: http://isitnormal.com/story/when-i-watch...ead-28079/

And on this one.

Michela Lutgen: That link has a special place in my heart because it is the first place I ever read other experiences that were exactly like my own Big Grin

Andrew MacMuiris: I know. I remember you saying that on the chat the other night. Smile

The first place I read things about ASMR was over at the steadyhealth forums.

Andrew MacMuiris: http://hubpages.com/hub/ASMR My new article! I'll put it on the wall as well.

Andrew MacMuiris: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1177076 - I'm going to warn you that this thread is full of trolls, so if you visit it, you will be bombarded with foul language. I'm not even going to bother networking on this one.

I saw that some people started arriving from this thread on my blog, by looking at feedjit, but the link that might have been put up there is now gone, it seems.

Envelope Nomia: >I'm going to warn you that this thread is full of trolls

Wow, see, that's just the kind of misconception and ridicule I'm trying to stop. Some times I would very much like to speak to people face to face. They invariably have less to say.

Michela Lutgen: lol I love your last sentence!
"They invariably have less to say." Nice.

Andrew MacMuiris: Just so we're clear I was referring to the trolls on newground.com - not this thread. Smile They really took the OP to task. I hate that sort of behaviour.

Michela Lutgen: And yet they still happened to find two different places that were exactly what this guy was looking for.

RE: External Links to ASMR Experiences
Found this one today after searching on Google. I don't know if they actually found the group or other sites, but anyway. Will consider joining and informing interested parties. http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthre...?t=1325804

Here's another one: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Neurology/T...how/648570

This one has the link to the FB group.

http://www.theplynx.com/1/post/2010/08/asmr.html - Networked on this one.

http://forums.narutofan.com/showthread.php?t=643532 - Didn't think it necessary seeing as there were all ready links to my blog and my ASMR article. It's getting easier for people to find, which is good.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high...-head.html - All ready a link to my article on HP, so people should find the network sites from there.

Is it normal to enjoy people explaining to you| Is It Normal ...

Another IIN question, and the comments on this one so far are typically unfavourable.
